Suffering from bullying at the workplace

Suffering from bullying at work is usually very difficult for the victim since it may not allow them to carry out their work activities correctly due to the hostile and uncomfortable environment that this causes in the work team. Being the place where we spend the most time, it should feel like a safe place, however sometimes there are people who seek to do harm and prevent you from enjoying your daily activities.

A person who bullies or harasses you at work generally exhibits offensive behavior, verbal attacks, harsh jokes, discrimination, and even in very serious cases, there may also be physical violence.

Workplace bullying can occur at all levels of the company towards anyone. For example, from employee to employee of the same work team or from your boss who would be at a higher level than you and abusing his power. In addition, it can also occur with someone who has a lower job rank than you and can start bullying out of envy.

The consequences that suffering from harassment can bring to your life, affect your environment in general as well as your work environment, since when you find yourself in a bad mood or sad because of the treatment you are constantly receiving in the company where you work, you can take your problems at home and even decide to quit their job in order not to continue suffering from bullying, which can cause economic destabilization.

The first step in reporting bullying is to speak directly to your supervisor and also to human resources so that they can take action and let you know that you are not alone. But if, on the other hand, the abuser is one of your superiors and when you talk to him or her, they do not react, the next step could be to start a labor claim.

At Hernandez Law, we can help you, you are not alone.
